The country's landscape is set to change in the coming years. Indeed, Israel is caught up in a construction fever on all fronts. Some examples of the main projects under development:
Tel-Aviv – Redevelopment of the old central bus station. The Tel-Aviv-Yafo municipality has given its approval for the launch of a massive project located on the site of the old central bus station, between Menahem Begin Boulevard and Harakevet. The 88-hectare area is expected to include residential towers and others developed as offices with a total surface area of approximately 280,000 m2, of which 40% will be for private use. According to the municipality, the project should begin within the next 10 years.
Tsahal is moving... The military high command has agreed to evacuate the military bases of Tel Hashomer, Tzrifin and Sirkin as well as part of the Ramat Gan base, to new bases located in the Negev. 60,000 new housing units should replace the military installations. According to the program, 80% of the transfer cost will be covered by the sale of the land. This project will provide a partial response to Israel's significant housing crisis, especially in this highly sought-after region as it is close to the country's economic hub, Tel Aviv.
Ramat Hasharon: Construction project for 6700 housing units.
The regional planning commission and the Israeli land registry have approved a construction project for 6700 housing units in Ramat Hasharon, a city near Tel-Aviv. The project plans to include a large sports and leisure activity park, schools and all public services. 20% of the dwellings will be small-capacity to satisfy all types of residents. Infrastructure such as telephone, Internet or high-voltage lines will be underground in order to maximize living spaces while respecting the environment.
