History of Israel

Modiin

Constructed in 1993, Modiin was only populated in 1996. It has since experienced significant expansion in both infrastructure development and population growth.

Modiin is built near the ancient Jewish city of Modiin, a symbol of the Jewish revolt against the Greeks, celebrated annually at Hanukkah.

Located midway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem (approximately 25 minutes from each), Modiin is just 10 minutes from Ben Gurion Airport. Since 2001, it has been recognized as a city.

Its population of 41,000 is predominantly young: 91% are under 49 years old, and 38% are under 20.

Education

12,000 students study in an educational system that represents all educational trends in Israel: secular, religious, or orthodox...

Besides traditional educational structures, Modiin offers a wide range of informal educational activities in sports, education, and socio-cultural fields (music, dance...).

Employment

The strategic geographical location of Modiin, at the heart of Israel, supported by a developed road network, opens up both the Tel Aviv and Jerusalem labor markets to its residents.

Moreover, the intense development of the city and its population creates a need for new service offerings (education, commerce...) which is a factor in job creation.

Housing

Modiin was built with a particular focus on integrating green spaces within the various housing units.

Numerous villas and apartments are available for rent or purchase, with prices significantly lower than in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.

Culture and Services

A wide range of activities are available in Modiin, including club meetings, concerts, films, theatrical performances, sports excursions, singing evenings, excursions, exhibitions, festivals, and workshops.

Three youth movements are represented in Modiin: HaNoar HaOved VeHaLomed (Movement close to socialist ideologies), Bnei Akiva (Religious Zionist), and Tsofim (Scouts).

For the elderly, there are clubs where meetings, lectures, and excursions are organized.

Modiin benefits from a developed sports infrastructure, including a swimming pool and equipped gyms.
