Population: 83,600 Area: 24 Km² (9 mi²) Herzliya, named after Benjamin Ze'ev Herzl (1860-1904), the founder of the Jewish state of Israel, is located north of Tel Aviv and is renowned for being a residential area and one of the wealthiest cities in Israel due to its high per capita income, particularly in the western part of the city. This new Jewish city was established in 1924, and a decade later it had already become the 8th largest Jewish city in the highly reputed Mandatoric Israel. Located on the flat shores of the Mediterranean Sea, the city features high-class hotels and restaurants, with a modern marina and other attractions. |
