Ashdod, seafront and marina on the Mediterranean

Ashdod is the rising city in Israel. The sixth largest city in the country with over 230,000 inhabitants, it combines a Mediterranean seafront, a major commercial port, still accessible prices and one of the fastest development rates in the country. Ashdod's history dates back more than 3,700 years. Mentioned in the book of Joshua, it was one of the five Philistine cities and a center of worship for the god Dagon. Archaeological excavations have uncovered Canaanite fortifications, a commercial port active since antiquity, and traces of continuous occupation through the ages — Egyptian, Assyrian, Macedonian, Roman. The modern city was founded in 1955 on an almost virgin site, and its growth has never ceased since.

Today, Ashdod is proud of its port — the most active in Israel — and its marina. The city is organized into 17 residential neighborhoods, with kilometers of pristine beaches and a developing seafront promenade. The most sought-after neighborhoods
